Khalsa Master Plan

Master Plan

Conrich, Alberta

This master plan on the outskirts of Calgary reimagines an existing school campus to support long-term growth while strengthening educational and community facilities. Developed as a two-phase project, the plan responds to immediate space needs while allowing flexibility for future expansion. Phase one focuses on the addition of modular classrooms integrated with the existing school structure, providing adaptable, high-quality learning environments that can evolve over time. A dedicated daycare is also introduced in this phase, reinforcing a family-centered campus and supporting early childhood development for both staff and community members.

Phase two expands the campus with a comprehensive suite of athletic and recreational amenities designed to serve both students and the wider community. These facilities include a multi-purpose stadium, tennis courts, and a running track that promote physical activity, school programming, and community sports events. To support increased use, the master plan incorporates additional parking areas that are carefully designed with landscaped buffers and green elements to blend with the surrounding environment. Circulation and site organization prioritize safety, accessibility, and ease of movement for all users. Through a thoughtful phased approach, the master plan creates a resilient and inclusive campus that balances education, recreation, and community life, ensuring the school can continue to grow while maintaining a strong connection to its natural and social context.
