The proposed development involves the demolition of the existing beach facility and the construction of a new pavilion designed to serve a variety of public needs. The pavilion will include male, female, and family washrooms, a service room, two tenant spaces, and a viewing platform located on the upper deck. The upper deck provides visitors with elevated views of the beach and surrounding waterfront, enhancing the recreational experience and creating a visual landmark for the area. The design prioritizes accessibility, durability, and functionality while ensuring the structure complements the surrounding environment.
The building is envisioned as a concrete structure with structural CMU walls and a concrete deck slab to provide long-term strength and stability. Washrooms and tenant spaces are enclosed with 190 mm thick load-bearing walls with insulated cladding to optimize thermal performance and durability. Interior partition walls are non-load-bearing CMU, finished with suspended gypsum board ceilings, wall and tile finishes in washrooms, and nonslip resilient flooring in tenant spaces. This combination of materials ensures a robust and low maintenance facility while providing a comfortable and safe environment for visitors. The pavilion is designed to support a high level of public use, accommodate seasonal demands, and integrate seamlessly with the beach setting, creating a functional, visually appealing, and enduring addition to the waterfront area.
