DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE STUDIO

DAAS is a platform for deep design investigations leading to exciting results. Headed by two architects, Tomasz Sztuk and Raphael Neurohr, we create environments that are responsive to physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Our projects are diverse in type and scale – ranging from installations to architecture and urban design. We happily work with great geographic reach, often in smaller municipalities.

Our collaborative process adapts to budget, community needs and commercial drivers. We are dreamers, designers, makers, collaborators and, necessarily, pragmatists.

APPROACH

In architecture we strive for spatial, structural, and detailing unity.

In buildings we look for proportions, rhythm, harmony, and balanced materiality to bring out beauty, simplicity, and purity together.

From the onset, DAAS strives for an integrated design approach where architectural, landscape, interior, and engineering disciplines coalesce in sync to deliver a cohesive, well-thought-out design response. The collaborative relationship between DAAS and our design partners is fundamental for our practice.

As human beings and professionals we respect past, ritual, thought, morality, and mysticism. From these often-sensual experiences, new ideas are born.

We place the site experience together with the programmatic requirements at the center of our design process. This results in designs that engage the user’s senses while fostering physical and social interaction specific to the project program, location, and its human environment.

All our designs are site specific and we always start anew to give our clients fresh ideas.

DAAS is currently involved in numerous projects in Alberta and British Columbia. Working across western Canadian provinces gives us valuable cultural and economic insights and creates the foundation for our evolving professional experience.
